Rodrigo Bravo is a Chilean industrial designer and the founder and director of the Chilean design studio bravo!, whose work is characterized by a unique methodology that integrates strong conceptual input, a distinct vision for techniques and materials, and the idea of territoriality into every project. His practice in product design spans watchmaking, lighting, and domestic products, with manufacturing and production extending internationally to countries such as Mexico, Switzerland, and China.
Bravo's designs have been selected and displayed in leading global exhibitions and contemporary design venues, including Spazio Rossana Orlandi and Salone del Mobile in Milan, DesignJunction in London, the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Chamber Gallery, WantedDesign, MATTER, and Sight Unseen OFFSITE in New York, Nomad Venice, the IberoAmerican Biennial of Design (BID) in Madrid, and Praxis Gallery, Galería Monoambiente, and QTS in Buenos Aires. Recently, his work was selected by Phaidon Press and a specialized curatorial team for inclusion in the book Designed for Life (Phaidon Press, 2024), highlighting the 100 best designers of today.
Beyond furniture and object design, Bravo is the founder of Area—an editorial unit dedicated to the experimental development of art, architecture, design, and music where he also serves as curator for the Area / SOUNDHALL section—as well as the founder of Ediciones Mármol, and the founder and creative director of Habitar Magazine since 2021, while also contributing to design education since 2012 as a professor of the Local Design Workshop at the Diego Portales University Design School.
