Designed by Mexico/USA-based studio Ananas Ananas, Dessert is one of five sculptural tableware pieces within the Trace collection. Conceived as a material reflection on the invisible environmental costs of agriculture, the sculpture brings together hyper-locally sourced rammed earth from farmland in Valle de Guadalupe, dehydrated oyster shells from San Quintín, and mirror-polished stainless steel shaped to Earth’s topographic contours.

By compacting and binding these overlooked remnants of a shifting landscape into a physical object, the work materializes the exact volume of soil eroded by a single meal—6.9 lbs (3.1 kg)—seamlessly blurring the line between functional tableware and collectible art.
