Product Details

Designed in 1975 by the Chilean architect Juan Ignacio Baixas, following his formative years in France under the mentorship of Jean Prouvé, the Puzzle Chair stands as a definitive intersection between architectural rigor and sculptural purity.

The chair’s brilliance lies in its radical simplicity. Eschewing all adhesives and metallic fasteners, the structure is held in perfect equilibrium by 12 precisely articulated beech wood components and a single expanse of high-tenacity canvas. This "Resistant Form" philosophy allows the tensioned fabric to perform a dual role: providing exceptional ergonomic comfort while serving as the essential force that maintains the chair’s structural integrity.

Each piece is a study in precision engineering, featuring a calculated 1 mm separation between wooden elements to ensure seamless assembly and adaptability to varying environmental conditions.

Today, this legacy of Latin American innovation is preserved and shared exclusively through Holder. As the sole global destination for the Puzzle Chair, Holder offers a limited, numbered edition of this archival masterpiece, an invitation to own a piece of living architectural history that remains as avant-garde today as it was half a century ago.

*In 2015, it was selected to be part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA).

The Bond Series B01 stool is the first prototype in a collection made from reclaimed ACP (Aluminum Composite Panels), also known as Dibond, a durable material often discarded prematurely.

The collection explores the possibilities and conflicts within this advanced material.

All plates for the B01 stool were sourced from film industry waste found at the Haus der Materialisierung.
